We use the Palomar Starlux 500 system. This IPL device has a super-cooled handpiece which makes the procedure
much more comfotable than other systems. The handpiece delivers a pulse of intense light which is absorbed by the
pigment of the hair follicle. This heats up the pigment, and destroys the bulb so that the hair follicle dies. Our hair grows
in phases, and only actively growing hair is able to absorb the energy. The hair in a resting state is not affected. Because
of this multiple treatments, usually 5-8, are necessary to eliminate the hair. Hair on any part of the body can be treated.
Laser hair removal works most effectively for dark hair on light skin, but with the Palomar system, even darker skin types
